Oklahoma Ballot Cure Process

Oklahoma does not have an absentee/mail ballot curing process. We recommend that you track the status of your ballot using your state’s online tool before Election Day to make sure it has been received and accepted. If you voted a provisional ballot, your ballot will either be counted or rejected by November 11th, 2022. If your ballot cannot be counted, you will be mailed a letter explaining the reason.

Ohio Ballot Cure Process

The deadline to cure (correct) your absentee/mail ballot is November 15th, 2022. If an error is found with your ballot, an election official will notify you of the issue by mail. The notice will include the necessary information and instructions to make the correction. If you voted a provisional ballot, you have until the same deadline above to present evidence to support your eligibility to vote. Questioned ballots are either counted or rejected by November 19th, 2022.

North Dakota Ballot Cure Process

If you voted by “set aside” ballot at the polls when you did not have the proper identification (ID), you must bring your valid ID to your county elections office for your vote to be counted. You must do this before your county’s canvassing board meets, which can be as early as six days after Election Day.

New York Ballot Cure Process

The deadline to cure (correct) your absentee/mail ballot is November 7th, 2022 or seven business days after the notification of a rejected ballot is mailed, whichever is later. If an error is found with your ballot, an election official will notify you of the issue by mail, phone, or email. The notice will include the necessary information and instructions to make the correction.

New Mexico Ballot Cure Process

New Mexico does not have an absentee/mail ballot curing process. We recommend that you track the status of your ballot using your state’s online tool before Election Day to make sure it has been received and accepted. If you voted using a provisional ballot, the deadline to cure (correct) your provisional ballot is November 10th by 5pm.

New Jersey Ballot Cure Process

The deadline to cure (correct) your absentee/mail ballot is 48 hours before the final certification of election results. The county board of elections will contact you within 24 hours of receiving your ballot if any errors are found. The notice will include the necessary information and instructions to correct your ballot on time. Additionally, you can track your ballot through your state’s online tool. If you voted a provisional ballot, it must be researched after the election to determine voter eligibility.

New Hampshire Ballot Cure Process

New Hampshire does not have an absentee/mail ballot curing process. We recommend that you track the status of your ballot using your state’s online tool before Election Day to make sure it has been received and accepted. If you voted by an affidavit ballot, you will be required to return your copy of the affidavit verification letter and a copy of any required documentation to the Secretary of State in the provided prepaid U.S. Postal Service envelope by November 15th, 2022 in order for the ballot to be certified.

Nevada Ballot Cure Process

The deadline to cure (correct) your absentee/mail ballot is November 15, 2022. The county clerk’s office will contact you via letter, phone, or email if any errors are found. The notice will include the necessary information and instructions to correct your ballot on time. Additionally, you can track your ballot through your state’s online tool. If you voted a provisional ballot, you can check the status of your ballot with the unique affirmation number issued to you at your polling place by calling (877) 766-8683.

Nebraska Ballot Cure Process

Nebraska does not have an absentee/mail ballot curing process. We recommend that you track the status of your ballot using your state’s online tool before Election Day to make sure it has been received and accepted. If you voted a provisional ballot, you can also check the status of your ballot by visiting the same link. Questioned ballots are either counted or rejected by November 15th, 2022.
