North Carolina does not have an absentee/mail ballot curing process. The county board of elections will contact you if there are any deficiencies with your absentee ballot using the phone number or email address on the absentee request form submitted. Additionally, you can track your ballot from printed to accepted by signing up online for status notifications through your state’s online tool. If a problem arises and you cannot cast an absentee ballot successfully, you may still vote during the in-person early voting period or on Election Day. If you voted a provisional ballot, it must be researched after the election to determine voter eligibility. The final status of questioned ballots will not be available before November 18th, 2022. To check the status of a provisional vote you may use your state’s online tool.
