DC Ballot Cure Process

The deadline to cure (correct) your absentee ballot is by 4:45pm on November 15th, 2022. If there is a signature mismatch or missing signature, you will receive a letter from the DC Board of Elections (BOE), and you can sign the certificate enclosed in the letter and return it to the DCBOE.

Colorado Ballot Cure Process

The deadline to cure (correct) your absentee ballot is 11:59pm on Monday, November 14th, 2022. If your local election official notifies you that your mail-in ballot was rejected due to signature discrepancies or other issues, you may use the TXT2Cure platform to help resolve it. California Ballot Cure Process

If you did not sign your absentee ballot envelope, you have until 5 pm on Wednesday, November 16th, 2022, to submit an unsigned ballot statement to local officials to correct (cure) the issue. If you need to correct a signature mismatch, you have until 5 pm two days prior to certification of the election (December 7-8, 2022). Election administrators will contact you via letter, phone, or email if any errors are found with your ballot at least eight days prior to the certification of the election with details and instructions on how to make corrections on time.

Arkansas Ballot Cure Process

The deadline to cure (correct) your absentee ballot is noon on Monday, November 14th, 2022. In certain cases, a voter is allowed to bring their verification of registration, documents needed, or an identification card to the county clerk to verify. Voters can check the status of their ballot here.

Arizona Ballot Cure Process

The deadline to cure (correct) your absentee ballot is 5pm on Wednesday, November 16, 2022. When a voter’s email cannot be verified, the County Elections Department will try to reach the voter. Voters can typically verify their signature over the phone or by using the TXT2Cure platform. You can check the status of your mail-in ballot here. If you completed a conditional provisional ballot, you will need to bring proof of identity to your county recorder’s office by the deadline above.

Anchorage Ballot Cure Process

Only the City of Anchorage has a ballot curing (correcting) process, and the deadline to correct a ballot is no later than 4pm on the day the canvassing board meets, which is on or before the third Friday after the election. If the signature on a ballot return envelope is missing or is deemed invalid, election officials will send you a letter explaining what happened, and you will have to fill out a form and direct you to return it or come to the location in the letter and present a valid ID to sign a verification form.

Alabama Ballot Cure Process

The deadline to provide your ID after casting a Provisional Ballot is 5pm on Monday, November 14th, 2022. If you voted a provisional ballot due to lack of proper identification (ID), you can bring your ID to your Board of Registrars by 5pm on the Monday following the election for your vote to be counted.
